Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Mark 16:15

State of the Nation

We are witnessing an enormous breakdown in the family structure, a great decline in employment, and an ungodly amount of hunger and depravation. As a result of these factors, many people are frustrated and depressed, while some are resorting to violence and sexual promiscuity; others are entangling themselves in drug abuse and crime. As we face the critical conditions on the island daily, the reality of the need to facilitate, to accommodate, to touch people’s lives at the point of their needs brings an overwhelming burden and sense of urgency. To fulfill the mandate of the church to present a social gospel, the functioning of the facility itself is key to fulfilling the vision given to Christ Temple Evangelistic Center. There is a sense of urgency because of the many needs of the Jamaican people.

Secondly, it is evident that the youth are the most valuable resource of any nation. We are convinced that if this ministry is able to facilitate, classrooms for educational programs, mentoring program for the youth, family counseling from a biblical perspective (with redirection to more specific areas of counseling where needed), a food pantry and kitchen, along with other activities involving our young people, we will be able to make a powerful impact on the situation we are facing in the nation. The ability to bring healing to some degree will give hope amid tragedy. By serving the community through teaching and training we will enable them to walk in purpose and victory. As we cater to the community of Ocho Rios and its surrounding areas, particularly the youth but not exclusively, we anticipate a great harvest.
