CTEC’s Hurricane Relief Efforts
Our general hurricane relief target is in support of the students at Marcus Garvey High School in Ocho Rios with intended distribution of school supplies, personal hygiene items and back packs. These young people have been traumatized by loss of the roof of their dwelling and some total home loss. Job opportunities for their parents hindered or on pause because of hurricane damage and their access to school supplies and personal hygiene items is limited. Youths are persevering, and we want to encourage them to continue.
As a result of the traumatic devastation from hurricane Melissa, we have added “The Liberty Project-Rebuild”. There is a great sense of urgency due to the magnitude of loss of their worship facility and the need to keep the people of the ministry together.
Liberty Apostolic Lighthouse is a church that was established in 1986 under the leadership of the late Pastor Uriah Archer. The ministry is currently guided by Pastor Lloyd Walford and Velma Walford. This ministry is located in an impoverished region of Jamaica making a difference in the lives of people through teaching, preaching, food distributions, scholarships, mentorship programs, etc. for the betterment of the community.
After the severe damage from the hurricane the ministry has been advised by the engineers and mandated by the building inspectors to demolish the remaining structure.
In addition to donations through our website, GoFundMe is an alternative option for giving to help Liberty rebuild and continue their mission. Liberty Project – Rebuild GoFundMe
Liberty is in dire need of your support to rebuild. We thank you in advance for your consideration, prayers, and financial support for this project. We believe God to reward you for your giving.
